Indian Summer?

Almost, but not quite. Apparently a warm spell in the autumn isn't technically "indian summer" unless you had a hard freeze earlier. All we've had so far is patchy frost. The next few days are supposed to be in the mid-eighties, followed by a cool-down and...another rainy spell. I wish we didn't have to have rainy, crappy weather on my birthday. New England weather is so inconsistent!

I did another Actinovate spraying on the plants this morning. I don't know how much it's helping the roses, but the tree peonies are definitely doing better. When I was outside inspecting them, a huge mosquito landed on my hand and proceeded to suck out my blood. I tried to wipe it off but it wouldn't let go! It hurt like hell. I swore up a blue streak and when I finally managed to get it off, the back of my hand was smeared with blood. Gross! Now it's all swollen. I hope I don't get West Nile...

I really feel like crying right now. I think it might be my allergies making my eyes water. Either that or I'm realizing how old I am. But I have a new eyebrow pencil right now, and my eyebrows look great for their age!
