Herbaceous Peony "Buckeye Belle."

Hey, it's here and it's really red.

Unfortunately, we planted it in such a sunny spot that it's very difficult to photograph. But oh, what a color! I think the technical name is "Dark Red" but that's not very romantic. I'll call it "garnet."

Wow, yeah, my NOID is def not this one. I'm sure the one I had to pull out this year was though. DAMMIT! I hate losing plants :*(

We would have tossed our Coral Charm out if we didn't have a big uncultivated landscape we could just plop it into and forget about it. If we had a tighter (and more pulled-together) gardening space we wouldn't have given it a second thought.

Losing plants does really suck, though. I'm still relatively new to gardening, but I see potential losses everywhere--I'm very worried about our Buck rose "Prairie Sunrise." Awhile ago we lost our beautiful flowering quince "Toyo-nishiki" to a vole attack and never replaced it. I have to warn you to stay away from those--one bite and they're dead!
