Ooh Sushi.
Apr. 4th, 2005 12:59 amTonight we ordered sushi from Hama in Hamden. Since it was for me and Kristen (two people) we ordered the Hama Boat for two. It was expensive but we hadn't had sushi since last October and we had a gift certificate. It was soooo good. ^____^ I was going to take a photo but I was too hungry!
Whenever I order sushi I usually save a California roll and a piece of eel for my mother because she hates raw fish. Unfortunately they didn't give us any of either in the assortment. Setting aside my guilty feelings I was pleased because I really don't like the fake crab in California rolls!
I hadn't been too happy with Hama in the past because I kept ordering the dinner box to go and they kept giving me maguro everything. Tuna roll, tuna sushi. I think maguro tuna is too bitter but I don't hate it like squid or octopus. Well, with the Hama boat they gave us a lot of nice inside-out rolls with salmon and avocado and assorted sashimi as well. Sashimi is gooood....I still couldn't make myself eat the octopus. I have no qualms about eating raw fish. I think some fish (like salmon) taste better raw than cooked but I detest rubbery things.
I let Kristen have the eel handroll this time. Next time it's mine!
I found a book lying around downstairs and I've decided to read it. I think it's my older brother's. It's The Vampire Tapestry by Suzy McKee Charnas. I'm not especially into vampire lit but I like to read as many different kinds of books as possible. I don't know if it's any good but it has a recommendation from Peter S. Beagle on the back cover. He wrote The Last Unicorn and I..uh...read that book. ^o^;...So, onward.
I just got Hilda in TOR. Ay, she be a freak! Honestly, I don't know what to do about the negative vibes she's been giving my party. She needs to scrub off some of that eyeshadow! I don't dislike her but she creeped me out when she turned out to be working for the enemy. She's hiding something weird under her turban! It reminded me of this play Vejigantes that I read in Spanish class in high school.
Tytree's voice is still annoying. He's as dumb as Gudelhian in Cyber Formula and slurs his words even worse!
I find myself liking Veigue in spite of myself. He's a change of pace from the eager, boyish heroes of the other Tales games. His melodramatic angst and deep, breathy voice are unintentionally hilarious in all situations. If it were any other game the hero would be someone like Tytree. Unfortunately, Tytree tried too hard to be funny and usually fails. =_=
Annie is another weird character. Not only is she a cute, sensitive girl but she's also a racist!

Date: 2005-04-04 07:06 pm (UTC)Mwah ha ha! It was pretty good, though. I can't stand any sushi that I can't bite right through on the first try. The same goes for tai (red snapper). It looks pretty but it's so rubbery and awful!
The tuna they gave us as sashimi was really good. Kristen said that it was probably chuu-toro and not maguro, though.
