...to burn your finger poking creme brulee, then knit with it, ignoring the pain because you want to see what the next row looks like worked out!

Thankfully, my index finger was not badly burned and feels better today. I am making a shawl for a real person (me!) out of this pretty Lion Brand ribbon yarn called Trellis (Stained Glass). The pattern calls for #19 needles and they look like they could be used to stake a vampire's heart. ^o^

It rained again today and that meant I didn't need to water the lawn. Yay! My friend the spider has shrunk drastically in size over the past couple of days. I don't know much about spiders, but Kristen says she saw an egg sack near the spider web.

Creme brulee is really good. ^_^ The one I was making was frozen creme brulee with red berries from Trader Joe's, which is pretty good, but I have made it myself before. The custard itself is simple but unless you have some kind of kitchen torch it's reaaaally hard to carmelize the brown sugar topping. My parents got me one for Christmas but I haven't bought the butane cartridges for it. ::sniff::

Yeah, that's the reason why I've never made it, because I don't have the right equipment -_- Otherwise I'd love to try it.

*___* I'll have to go to Trader Joe's now, I love that store. Have you tried those dried strawberries from there? *_________* They're so delicious.

I haven't tried them yet! ^_^ I'll see if I can pick some up the next time I go. It's a little out of the way (well, 40 minutes from my house) and I wish I could go there every week.

I've been addicted to the dry-roasted edamame (soybeans). I could eat them all day long. :D
