I Committed a Crime! :D

Yesterday my copy of Tales of the Abyss arrived. I didn't get the preorder bonus. =_=

I was going to hold off on playing it until Christmas but in the end temptation wore me down and I figured "Hey, I paid for EMS shipping for this game and I'm trying it out now!

The graphics are bad. Like, PS1 bad. The loading times are atrocious. The music is okay....but all and all, I'm finding the game to be quite enjoyable. Why? Is it because of the fun battle system or because I'm playing a Tales game with bad graphics and it feels like home? ^o^ I like that they throw you right into things and let you control Luke right away. Yeah, he's whiny and selfish and a terrible person but it's comic. ^^;

Tear is...okay. She's not a cutesy heroine and I don't dislike her. I only saw Guy and Van at the beginning but there doesn't seem to be any reason to hate them. Guy's voice didn't sound as weird as I thought it would!

I have no opinion of Anise at this point. And of course, Jade is Koyasu, and Koyasu is always Koyasu, but I think he's funny. I'm glad because I was afraid I wouldn't like him and then I'd feel like a grade-A idiot for fangirling over him before the game came out! ^o ^

Speaking of weird voices, Ion sounds like an alien! I've never heard his seiyuu playing a boy before and I guess she can't do it. ^o^

I was receiving huge vibes from Luke and Guy at the beginning of the game. I mean, Guy's waiting in Luke's room (and wearing tight black pants) and then he sneaks out the window? O_O But I guess he can't compare to Van, huh? Luke seems to be very interested in the men in his life but then Tear shows up and paralyzes them all with her feminine attributes. And then Luke is swept away to another country with a woman! Just what is this game trying to tell us?

Luke whining for Van's attention made me laugh out loud. ^o^

I wonder if Koyasu had a hand in Jade's first appearance because Jade seems like a very fan-service-y character. "Make him commanding a big armored ship and calling over an intercom in a cool voice!" "Okay, but he's going to be bad graphics!"

There aren't enough enemies on the world map and they hardly give you any money. That ticks me off!
