I have been having a hell of a time writing lately. Maybe I'm too distracted but I'm fed up with the way my words come out on paper. Buuuu.....

I'm 3 hours into TODr and I played a little FFVIa as well. This is my first time playing FFVI in Japanese and at this point I haven't noticed any major differences from the U.S version besides the Tina/Terra, Mash/Sabin thing. I can't see any reason why they changed Tina's name to Terra, and I also have to wonder why they changed Mash's name to Sabin. Considering how his name writes out in katakana, why not call him Matthew?

The music suffers from the port but the gameplay isn't broken a'la FFIV, where the random enemies kick your ass but the bosses are simple. Locke sucks. I don't think it's because of the port.

I just got Lion in my party. The story appears to be moving faster than in the PSX version but considering how long it's been since I played that it could be my imagination. Some things have been added here and there but the dialogue has been mostly cut down and refined. In this version they mention right off the bat that Lion is Hugo's son. Also, Hugo is hot (from what I can tell from his sprite) but his voice is very, very strange.

I think that Mary is stupider in the remake. Lion seems less childish and more brooding (his inner Judas emerging?). I like Rutee more in this version so far and I hope it lasts. Contrary to what one might think I prefer not to hate characters. ^o^

The Seki(Tomokazu) who plays Stahn seems to have completely wrecked his voice. I didn't want to believe it at first but he definitely sounds raspier. Too much drinking, smoking or squeaky-voiced characters? Lion also sounds weird, not just nasal but kind of...plugged. I remember I noticed the same thing with Chris Noth's voice over the past few years. Did Midorikawa blow out his voice too? And then there's Mary...Seiyuu, take care of your voices! ;_;
