Obligatory weekly picture of Lucas. Long Cat is loooooong.
I just finished reading the last book in my hardcover anthology of Diana Wynne Jones' The Dalemark Quartet. I've always had a like/dislike relationship with the author's books, and wanted to see how some of her least known works fared. Now that I'm done, I would rank the books I liked the best, from greatest to least, as 1. The Spellcoats 2. Drowned Ammett 3. The Crown of Dalemark and 4. Cart and Cwidder. I am going to be be honest here. I thought The Spellcoats was a great book, Drowned Ammett was pretty good, The Crown of Dalemark was mediocre and Cart and Cwidder was one of the worst books I've ever read in my life. I really don't understand Diana Wynne Jones. Some of her books are so good I get chills when I read them, and others are so riddled with poor plotting and poor grammar that I can't believe a publisher even accepted them. Oh well. I am reading a grown-up book now. I am reading Othello. I never got a chance to read it in high school or college. I didn't think I was the kind of person who would read Shakespeare for fun, but here I am....reading Shakespeare for fun. Ten years ago I never thought I'd read Shakespeare and say that I love the language but here I am....kind of loving the language.
Lucas turns 2 years old on April 29. He's still an immature little punk. ::squeezes him::
