The King of Flowers.

Actually, herbaceous peonies are called "ka-ou." Tree peonies like this one are called "botan."

I was so happy to see this bloom today. The flowers are very large, and smell like nothing, which is fine by me. XD

It's a dwarf shrub that only comes up to my knee. I think it's interesting that the flowers started out light pink and darkened with age. Usually it's the other way around.
