I went and put the red eyes back in Fuuka for a change. I wanted to see how they looked with the purple wig.

I love Zoukei-mura eyes more than anything ^o^! I have no idea when my most recent order is going to come in, but I hope it does...come in. It's amazing how a pair of those eyes can transform a Super Dollfie. Currently only Saffron, Fuuka and Anise have them, but eventually I'd like to get all my SDs at least one pair to be considered their "default."

Are the Zoukei-mura eyes really that nice? I keep chickening out of buying some because they are so expensive and I'm afraid I'll spend so much and not like them...though I'm sure I would. Silly me. o.o;

I'm sure you'd love them! At first I was attracted to them only because of the unusual colors you can get them in, but when I bought my first pair I was amazing by the amount of detail in the irises. They have metallic threading that is so subtle that it doesn't show up in photos. I have some Tallina's EG and HG eyes, and even though they are pretty nice the Volks eyes are just fantastic. Once you put them in, you won't want to take them out!

I think Alice In Nightmare must use the Volks eyes...I've never seen any other eyes catch the light like those do. So pretty.

I prefer Volks eyes because the irises are bigger, and make the doll look more alert. Tallina's eyes are also really pretty, especially the light colors, but I find that the iris pattern on those is more like nice blown glass, whereas Volks eyes looks more like the human eye.

Are the Volks eyes very paperweight? The trouble I have with the EG eyes is that they are so paperweight that it's hard to position the eyes. Especially since I tend to use larger eyes than what the doll usually wears.

They're only slightly paperweight. EG eyes are very paperweight, aren't they ^_^? Volks eyes are flat-backed, and that makes them easier to put in. They fit really well in the eyewells. I remember having a heck of a time fitting the EG 18mm eyes in my mini SD, and the Volks ones fit without any trouble. The iris to white ratio is much larger on the EG eyes, though.
