Keep On Going.
Jan. 3rd, 2005 11:57 pmTonight I painted my first Volks Midi doll. ^___^ The body is very cute but it's a little hard to sew for! I rooted this little girl using RestoreDoll SheeLa hair. Here's another of my crappy pictures. Meet Tamaki!
At first I thought the head that came with the Midi body was the SH-07 but it appears to be new. It resembles the mini head but it has a higher forehead. I think it looks the most like a tiny version of the SH-02.
I hadn't intended to try that particular hair blend just yet but I needed it to fill an order. I think it's kind of interesting. I've been using a lot of black-based blended hair colors lately. I guess I like them! Black and green would be interesting, hm.....
Dad has been feeling a lot better now that he's talked to the cardiologists that saw him during his "episode." They basically told him that there's nothing wrong with his heart and that they put him on medication because he has a family history of heart disease (his father died of a heart attack at 55). He can return to his normal activities but he's going to have to watch his sodium intake. He's very lucky. At least now he knows that there's nothing seriously wrong with him. He just has to take preventative measures.

Date: 2005-01-04 10:53 pm (UTC)Blythe and Licca clothes would probably fit the midi as well. I was surprised that my 27cm doll clothes weren't as over-sized on it as I thought they'd be. I tried to draft a pattern for that top she's wearing and it ended up being way too small. I guess there's not much point to going out of one's way to make clothes in a different size if the 27cm patterns fit all right. ^_^;.
Thank you for your concern! ^_^ My father wasn't feeling well a few days ago but it was probably due to side effects from the beta blockers he's had to take. Better safe than sorry, though...

Date: 2005-01-04 11:01 pm (UTC)Thank you for your kind words! ^____^ My dad has never been the type of person to put a positive face on bad times and it's been hard to tell whether he's in pain or just being moody sometimes....=_= I'm glad the doctors were able to reassure him. I'm just going to have to make sure he doesn't slack off on keeping in shape!

Date: 2005-01-04 01:57 pm (UTC)I like what you've done with the Midi-girl! The Sheela color is nice, but I'm a little peeved that I had to pay extra for a custom blend which ended up being the same as Sheela. Should've waited, I guess... I still haven't made my custom doll using it. :p

Date: 2005-01-04 11:05 pm (UTC)Aren't the custom-blended colors the same price as the pre-blended ones? I know they did lower all their prices within the past three months. There are some colors that are a little more expensive than the others, but I think that both Sheela and the two-tone custom blend are $5.55 an order....
