Tulips A' Blooming.

The weeds have already started to invade! It rained a lot over the weekend and I probably should have cleaned up before I whipped out my camera. I dug that garden out last year and the grass still doesn't understand that it doesn't belong there. =_=

We have some nice flowers this spring but our overall display is pretty patchy. I have to pick out some more bulbs in the fall during White Flower Farm's big sale! I'm iffy about the dutch and peony-flowered tulips because compared to the lily-flowered tulips and daffodils they're too short-lived. All the tulips in that photo are from a lily-flowered mix we planted last fall. I hear they form colonies rather than reproduce themselves to death like other tulips. They have a cool shape, too.

Kristen found a white bleeding-heart behind the deck that I barely remember planting. I think we received it from one of my mother's coworkers who ripped all her plants out of her yard before she moved to a new house and gave them to us. Most of them were half-dead in plastic bags but surprisingly enough almost all of them are growing back. 6_6 Thanks to that lady we might have strawberries this year.

I've been playing the game for 60 hours. I just finished meeting the Holy Beast who turned out to be Saleh, who is as sleazy as ever. Seriously, why do people like this guy? Maybe he's supposed to be pretty but he sounds like evil Tenchi from Tenchi Muyo. Having a voice actor who's typecast as a colorless main character in a harem show play a slick villain is just creepy. He has too much Hisoka going on (for you Hunter X Hunter fans out there). Well, anyway.

I suck at the rafting game. I unwittingly triggered a side quest in Petnadjanka (sp?) about a "ghost" in the factory and received some nice titles. I'm still controlling Mao and LOVING IT! I guess I was born to use the speedy, weakling mage, mwah hah!

I liked the part where Annie had Hilda electrocute the gajuma soldier to restart his heart and then took all the credit. Just business as usual for Hilda, I suppose.

Oooooooo!!! That semi-purple one is gorgeous!! My parents won't do tulips in the backyard...too much trouble, they think. T_T I end up buying them and putting in vase instead.

I'm glad you like them! *^_^* I had been looking for the purple ones for a long time and I'm glad they actually survived!

I don't know how well tulips would do in the South. I think they need a cold winter or else they won't bloom in the spring. Maybe some people dig them up and chill them in their basement but I always leave them in the ground. Of course I have to pray that moles or cats won't take them!

There are quite a few plants that have an easier time in the warmer parts of the country, though! ^o^

They bloom here fine, I think. I've seen some around the neighborhood. I guess my parents just don't care for them in their garden,...mostly because they already have so many other flowers that just bloom when spring arrives.

Ha ha ha, I wish my parents cared about the plants in our yard. Mostly they just mow them over or pull them out by accident!

I think the plants that bloom all season are the best but I don't have many of those coming up until late summer. That why columbine is one of my favorite flowers, it keeps blooming for months. ^_^

You know, my mom planted these cherry tomatoes one year and omg, they took over the entire area where she planted them! 0_0 She said they just spread themselves and every year now, they just pop up! We have soooooo many cherry tomatoes that it's a hassle to get them every day in the summer! I love eating them but ugh, even I hate having to harvest them when it's so humid outside! When the start coming out, I'll take pics to show you.

My parents both have green thumbs and have always tried to get us to like gardening. We just like eating the fruits of their labor..hehe!

Holy crap, they must be some mutant tomatoes! I'd really like to see that. :D I've tried growing tomatoes because my mother insists on them but they always taste bad. I only like to eat the grape or cherry tomatoes, anyway.

I've all but given up on vegetable gardening. The one year things did well a groundhog moved in under our deck and ate EVERYTHING. All I could do was watch! O_O I do have an easy time with basil and oregano, though. Basil's an annual but we have oregano growing in the weirdest places now.

They grew everywhere because the ones that fell of the bushes...we never picked up and their seeds...just seeded the areas themselves. Yeah...they are almost like a weed now! My mom planted them on 2 other plots in the garden and now, they just pop up there every year too! Heh, if you lived nearby, I'd totally give you cherry tomatoes!

Groundhogs? I don't think we have those but the moles...argh! I don't think they eat our garden as much now as before. My dad would plug up all their holes but for one, then flush them out by filling up their tunnel with the garden hose. He'd wait at the other end with a big log and...eek, bludgeon them to death. They were eating up our garden a lot!

When you think of it, having the tomatoes reseed them isn't that weird, but still...O_O Here it would be too cold for that. My grandfather was really into growing tomatoes, eggplants and peppers and had a nice fenced-in garden even though he lived in a two-family house in the city. I don't know how he did it.

We have tons of groundhogs in our town. If you drive down a main street and look on either side you can usually see one or two flopped out on the grass. They're really cute but ravenous eaters! Luckily now that our neighbor's evil cat hangs out in our yard they stay away. If one sets up house in your yard, you're screwed!

I know we have moles that are taking our lilies but I haven't tried killing them yet ^____^;... I don't remember the last time I've seen one outside its hole. Maybe when I was five and found a dead one I wanted to keep as a pet.
