Sunday Nothing with a Side of Ys.

^o^ It didn't rain today! ^o^

Not much of anything happened today. I bought a new eyebrow pencil and it turned out to be a weird unnatural color. That's fascinating, isn't it? ^-^ I wore my last one down to a nub and it finally broke when I tried to sharpen it. I was complaining to my mother about it and she said she didn't know I used eyebrow pencil. Well then, I guess it was doing its job!

I'll probably paint a doll within a few days. I have an Azone 06 head doll I rooted with RestoreDoll Purple Haze hair that I can't wait to mess with! Unfortunately the only body I had for her was a spare Takara Jenny 17 body. The head fit well...

On the gaming front, I decided to give the Tales series a short rest and play Ys: The Ark of Napishtim. I heard that game isn't very long and I wanted a change of pace.

This feels like Ys, doesn't it? In spite of the fact that Adol can now jump and swing his sword the gameplay doesn't feel that much different from Ys Eternal. Not that I have a problem with that. When I'm stressed out and feel like killing monsters, leveling up and opening treasure chests, Ys is my drug of choice. ^^

I had mentioned earlier that I'm playing the Japanese version and I used the U.S version's code to kill the ugly CGI cut scenes and was awarded anime cut scenes and English subtitles for my troubles. Odd, it was.

Well, anyway, I know Famitsu panned this game but it's fun! The music is nice, the graphics are ehhhh, the Japanese voices are bad (Olha in particular sounds like she's slow) and the gameplay is quite enjoyable. Hurray for Ys !

True to form, all the female characters are blow-up dolls. But who cares, I get to kill monsters and open treasure chests! For those of you who were freaked out by the whole Tales of Rebirth no game-over thing, I lost five times to the first boss of Ys 6. So there. I really suck at video games! XD
