I can't seem to wrap my mind around much tonight. ^_^;...

My stomach has been bothering me all day. That usually happens when it gets too warm and then we turn on the A.C. Kind of like diving into a pool of ice-cold water..ugh.

I finished rooting that Obitsu #4 head with Ruby Tuesday hair and cooked it for only five minutes because I'm going to set it in curls tomorrow. I still haven't decided what eye color to give this doll but I'll probably do brown, if only because I hardly have any brown-eyed dolls. Then again, I hardly have any gray-eyed dolls either! o_o

Maybe I'll pick a color out of hat or something.

I am addicted to playing Ys to the point where I'm surprised Kristen doesn't slap my hand away when I reach for the controller. ::twitches:: Oh well, no more playing until tomorrow night. Uh huh uh huh...

I read in a doll book that boil-perms take out the shine of saran as opposed to using steam to style hair. Have ever you notice a difference at all?

and I vote brown eyes ;)

I've heard about that too! Unfortunately, because saran is so plastic-ky if you use steam a lot of the times the style falls out of the hair after a few months. I find that if you make sure not to turn the heat up too high boil-perming is fine. Granted, the way I do it would be more like medium-low-simmer-perm as opposed to boil-perm. The 14 second full boil followed with a dunk into icewater perm that a lot of people do really does take the shine out of the hair!

Some colors like silver and black are delicate and you need to be careful not to let the water get too hot. It seems that some colors can take more heat than others! The milky colors like the sky blue that RestoreDoll sells and that dark purple hair I used for my doll Kei can take a lot.

Brown eyes it is! ^_^ I like brown eyes so much in person, it's odd that I hardly have any brown eyed dolls.

You're supposed to only boil for 14 seconds? *__* I remember reading you can do it for a few minutes, but that was a long time ago.

You definitely seem right with some colors being able to take more heat than others. I've only boil-permed a few heads but now that I go back and look at them the darker hair colors are more dull.

That's the exact same with me, I like brown eyes in people but my dolls rarely have them ^^; I've finally gotten a pair of brown glass eyes, most of my other other ones are different shades of green.

If you have the water at a full rolling boil (which I don't really recommend) you can keep the head in there for 14 seconds, tops, or else you'll damage the hair.

My Favorite Doll Book and Marugoto CharaDoll tell you to keep the head in the water at a medium-low simmer for 15 minutes. I usually do 8 minutes for delicate colors and 10 for the sturdier ones. 15 minutes seems excessive. ^_^;...

The only brown glass eyes I have are Volks gold-brown B. I wish they made a darker brown!
