...so I thought I'd take some pictures. I think this one is cute but you can see what a lousy job I did on poor Emilio's shirt:

Dad had a doctor's appointment. He's not happy because his doctor told him he has to check his glucose every morning for two weeks and call him with the results. Right now it's 124. =_=

I'm still playing Tales of the World 3. It's a very fun game but it gives me a headache!

I found this weird thing growing in our garden two years ago and even though we tried to remove it this summer it came back. It's an alien!

:) It's nice to see Emilio again! I think he looks very cute in his shirt ;x

Those plants (or something similar) were on a forensic show a few nights ago and gahhh I can't remember what they were called. This is going to bother me ... it started with a B.

^^ Thanks! I had a hard time with that shirt, though, because I used stretch poplin and when it bunches up it gets permanent wrinkles. =_=

I've actually seen the plant in a gardening catalog but I have no idea how they got in my yard because they grow from a bulb. They're some kind of allium; even though they're probably not edible when you cut them they smell like garlic. ^^

Doll stuffs.

Hiya. I saw your icon on tikistich's journal, and was wondering if you could give me some dollfie advice. I just recently got into them, and I have one with no eyes (eb model), and one with glass eyes (dollfie plus) but the top of her head wont screw on all the way.

With the EB, I bought a couple decal sets, and found out they didnt stick on their own, so I bought some Testors set, which works, but they feel a bit sticky. Do you have an experience with the decal eyes? I really dont want to mess up her head, it has pretty rooted pink hair.

The plus doll, i managed to get the eyes in and eyelashes and I used sticky tack rather then buy putty, but there is a gap where the head screws together, and the wig fits funny because of it. I thought about sanding the edges but i wasnt sure if that would be ok. lol Ok so any help you can give me would be greatly apreciated, and sorry for attacking you in your journal all random like. Your dolls all look really good so I thought you would be a good person to ask.

Hi ^_^! I don't have that much experience with decals or Dollfie Pluses but I have tried them out. Let's see if I can help.

When I used eye decals I set them with Liquitex Matte Permanent Varnish. I don't know if Testors has an equivalent to that but I think the finish would be sticky in any case. I paint all my doll's eyes and they're still sticky! I guess it's just the way it is with acrylic paint.

I don't think there's a way you could ruin the head with decals. They aren't permanent so if you don't like them you can probably peel them off without too much difficulty. Just as long as you don't use petroleum jelly on them or that Twin Pines stuff some doll restorers use as a stain remover (it dyes the head white) you should be okay.

I've only tried one Dollfie Plus but from my experience the wigs don't fit too well. The one I used was a Volks wig designed for a DP and it wouldn't sit flat on the head! Maybe the wigs are too small? The one I used was one of the early DPs and I think they were a bit different. I wish I knew more about it, I'm sorry!

Don't worry, I don't consider this an attack! I'm glad you like my dolls! I thought everyone was sick of 1/6 scale dolls and I'm happy to help a fellow customizer! ^_6
