I managed to clear Eliwood Chapter 16 today but not without a huge freaking struggle. I don't know how other people play this game but if I lose a party member I replay the chapter. I had to replay Chapter 16 four times before I finished it properly.

I knew that in order to recruit Raven I needed to have Priscilla talk to him but considering that she only had 16 hit points how was I supposed to drag her through enemy territory without having her be picked off by an archer? At first I tried to take it slow and move my whole party up the map gradually. Then I accidently attacked Raven (he looked like a regular enemy!) and killed him.

I reset the game. The next time I took it even slower. So slow that an allied Caelin soldier picked Raven off before I got anywhere near him. Ha ha ha.

Next! I got the great idea to have Marcus "rescue" Priscilla, thus protecting her from danger. Then I used him to plow through the enemy lines and dump Priscilla in front of Raven for their timely conversation. Bad move. Priscilla's turn was spent and Raven darted around her to attack Marcus, who counter-attacked and killed Raven in one hit. RESET!

The next time I used my awesome cavalry knights (Kent, Sain, Lowen and Marcus, I love them!) to murder the enemies in my way but kept them far enough away from Raven so that Priscilla could ride over on her horsie and recruit him. Success! But then a random mounted enemy killed Lyn, who was guarding Merlinus' tent. Damn!

It took five times, didn't it? ^___^;....The five time I made it. I kicked out Lyndis and replaced her with Dorcas. His axe was weak to swords but at least he didn't die. :P
