Tonight, the electrical transformer at the end of the street was on fire! O_O

I guess it didn't effect my house because even though our neighbors lost power for a few hours and the lights at the corner were out we remained happily energized and air-conditioned in the 90-degree weather. The electric company finished fixing the transformer at around 10pm. I kept expecting to hear an explosion and hid in a corner in my room with a flashlight and my copy of The Emerald City of Oz. :D

My father received a call from his doctor with the results of a few tests he had had done a few weeks ago. The doctor's office had called several times over the past couple of days but even after I told the receptionist to try again after 6pm she didn't call again until two days later. o_o Dad kept saying that he really didn't want to hear what they had to say even though the message said it wasn't an emergency. Thankfully, the doctor says he's doing fine. He should keep his glucose under 120 but other than that, he's doing well. Phew! He was concerned about his liver function because when he was younger he had hepatitis and nearly died, but apparently that still doesn't do as much damage as being a heavy drinker. If that's the case, I wonder how much longer our neighbors are going to last?

A package from the Doll and Hobby Shoppe came today. Half of the order was missing and will probably come in later but I did finally get my hands on some Volks SH-09 heads. I've never used them before and this is exciting for me! I also managed to snag a SH-06 head with my Beauty F body. Happy...^___________^

I love the Wizard of Oz books! I wish they would reprint all of them, including the ones Baum didn't write. Iv'e only read the first 4 so far.

Do you mean the Doll and Hobby shop in Florida by any chance? Cuz thats the one I go to, its like an hour away. I may have mentioned that to you before. Cant remember.

I've seen books 1-14 at Amazon.com. I think they were reprinted recently because I remember two years ago I wanted to buy them and they weren't available. I've been ordering the paperbacks two at a time because with so many books it wouldn't be economical to get the hardcover! I'm almost done with Book 6. ^_^

Yep, I ordered from the DHS in Florida. I remember you said you lived near a doll shop but I didn't realize it was that one. You're lucky!

Can you post a link to the ones you have? Cuz I work at a bookstore, and If I can get them there, I get a discount heh. I found some of the later ones at a used book store, but they are kind of plain. Maybe thats how they all are. Sorry im tired and making less sense then I mean to.

Im hoping to go to the doll store on friday, I haven't been in a month now and I want to get a new wig for my plus doll and maybe a boy doll.

I don't know if these links are going to work but these are the most recent Oz books I've read. The Road to Oz wasn't that great but I enjoyed Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz and The Emerald City of Oz wasn't too bad either. I'm not sure if the quality of the series diminished more towards the end but it seems that Baum wanted to end the series earlier and received pressure to continue it. ^___^;
