Little Things.
Jan. 14th, 2003 08:19 pmMy little bitty Tallina's order came in today: a long, curly red wig for mini SDs and a pair of 18mm light violet glass eyes. I had expected to be disappointed in the light violet eyes (I thought they'd be less pretty than the pale blue, and I had originally wanted green) but they turned out to be a gorgeous periwinkle color. ^_^ I might like them even more than the pale blue ones.
The curly wig looks kind of weird. I had originally bought it for Miyako, but I think it looks on Saffron. On Saffron it stays! Oddly enough, Miyako looks really cute in Saffron's Myu wig. She was originally Sakura, but since all the early mini SDs have the same face does she become Myu with that wig?
Since Miyako shipped Kristen's package out yesterday, I'm guessing we should get it at the end of the week.
I've seen some very pretty Nonos on a Japanese SD owner's list. My fingers are twitching. Even though I know there's no way....I wish I could buy a New Makeup Nono. I would probably customize her right away, but...I know that Frank still has one. I'm pretty sure he does. I could only afford it if I charged her on my credit card, but even if you have enough credit, that doesn't mean you can afford it, does it? 6_6 Aw hell, I'm just blabbing. There's no way I'm going to buy her, but it's awfully tempting.
::can't decide between Mimi and Nono::
And here I had promised that after Mimi that would be it! I wouldn't need any more SDs. But each doll has its good points. Even a doll you wouldn't normally consider buying has its own special appeal.
I guess there will never be an end to the hunger ^___^! That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. I wouldn't enjoy this hobby much if I couldn't look at other people's dolls with longing. It's the same thing with 1/6 scale doll customizing. I'd be pretty disappointed if I couldn't find artists whose skills were way out of my league. You have to keep your sense of wonder about life in general. I agree that it's very important to be satisfied with your own work, but at the same time can't you find a special kind of pleasure in seeing something that someone else has done that makes you say "I'm not worthy?" ^_______^;;......
I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm just thinking. ^___^ I just finished a book that I liked a lot; it was called Naming the Spirits and it was by...::runs to check::...Lawrence Thornton. If you like to read, go read that book. Even if you don't like to read, go read it! I swiped it from my aunt, but it would be worth paying for. 6_6 I'm just remembering that one of my college professors told me that you won't know what kind of writer you're supposed to be until you find out what kind of books you like to read. So never underestimate the power of gawking at people who are better than you! After all, there's no law preventing you from trying to do what they're doing.
Hmm...too much caffeine?
I tried the mango ice cream mochi. They were good, maybe even better than the green tea ones. And they were such a lovely orange color! Why don't they sell mango ice cream by the pint?
