Still not as bad as last year.

The birthday, that is. Because even though it rained for the eighth consecutive day today (we've had ten inches of rain so far this month) plunging my entire world into gloom to the point that I started questioning my reason to exist, I got to eat sushi!

Now if they were to use sashimi-grade fish to make sushi that would be the perfect food. ^o^ The only thing I didn't really like (along with the tai, which I always hate because it's rubbery) was the smoked salmon. Without thinking I dipped that piece in soy sauce and damn that was salty!
Hama has apparently changed its name to Sono Bana but other than that it was the same. That was actually the Sono Bana Boat(formerly the Hama Boat) but because we ordered take-out they didn't give us the boat. ^o^ It was supposed to be for two people but for some reason they gave us one piece of some things and three of others. Were they trying to promote a fight? We couldn't eat it all, anyway!
They also gave us a little plastic container of pickles, which they've never done before. They were good! I love pickled daikon even if it is a disturbing fluorescent yellow.
Because I love myself (even if nobody else does) I bought myself some books for my birthday. I'm currently reading The Mouse and His Child by Russell Hoban. I vaguely remember seeing the movie when I was a kid and I saw it mentioned on a forum and I thought, "Oh! There's a missing piece of my childhood!" That book is marketed for children but it's pretty gruesome!
I also made myself a sexy icon of Klarth F. Lester. Happy Birthday to Me!
