The Customizing of Fuuka.

Last night, I decided to go for it and customize Fuuka (my Super Dollfie New Makeup Rio). I had been putting it off for a while, because her original face paint was pretty cute (waaaaay better than the old standard SD makeup!) and I didn't want to mess her up, but she was starting to look washed out to me. Also, I almost felt like she wasn't really mine because I didn't have a hand in making up her face. Soo.....I popped off her head and went to work.

It wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought, though her eyelashes were harder to put in than Miyako's. I was originally going to leave her lip color as is, but I wanted to give her features more definition.

Big thanks for Kristen for taking Fuuka's head off for me, helping me make up her eyes, and....(the big thing) putting her lungs on the line to coat Fuuka's face! I think that Fuuka looks a lot cuter now that she's customized, but I can't give myself a lot of credit. I think that SDs look better if you don't fuss over their makeup. Most of the time, it's better to give your doll a look that matches a lot of different wigs and outfits. ^_^....even if it does look plain compared to some of the more glamorous SDs...

I gave Tallina's wax a try when I put Fuuka's eyes back in. That stuff is SWEET! ^o ^ I had been using Miyako's eye putty for the longest time, and I had to keep reaching into her head and fixing her eyes. I should just throw that crap out. It's always turning up on the rug in my room, anyway....:P

La la laaaaa.....

I have a confession to make. Here goes.........I used Shu Uemura eyelashes in Fuuka. They cost $10 a pair! O_O They were the only ones I liked! I figured that if I tried to get the Volks ones they'd end up costing more in the long run....sigh......they're lovely lashes, anyway. They feel just like mine ^O^!

I have so many 1/6 scale dolls to repaint it isn't even funny. They're taking over my room! I'm going to have to sell off some of my less-loved Jenny dolls in order to keep myself from being smothered. Ciao!

I think I'd have gone into cardiac arrest if Frank's list offered more...like SHOES and all the wig styles! I'd prolly order every shoe in every color/style if he had it! I'd prolly have to get a Xmas job to pay it all off if he did!

Anyhow, I'm going to try my hand at paints for Pashmina! I can't wait to see what you and your sister will sew for your dolls!

:D Oh, is that your new mini SD?

She's really cute (reminds me of Pippi Longstocking or Anne of Green Gables)! And her name, Pashmina, is lovely!

You did a very nice job on her--that wasn't so hard, was it? :D

I wonder what Frank's next list is going to look like? I swear to God I came so close to ordering Nono, but Mimi is the doll I really want. Not that I have the money for either!

There's a wig color I'm looking for--pearl silver--that I think is really pretty. Of all the hairstyles, I like the long, loose curl and the pigtail wigs the best. I don't think Frank is going to be getting those any time soon, though!

Yeah, Volks only gave him what they knew they could send to him, for sure. I do hope that he'll be able to order the other styles eventually tho. I'd love to get an actual Volks pig-tail wig like the School Girl SDs wear. Everytime I see those SDs, I talk myself out of getting one! They look so cute in their uniforms and pigtails!

If the yen continues to weaken, you might be able to get your Mimi for a whole lot less! At least, there is the IMOS on the online store to use, if Frank can't order!
