Knitting Up The Way It's Supposed To.

Ah, Cotton Fleece.

Even though I've been complaining about it I've managed to get better at working with it and my knitting is no longer full of holes! The only problem is that my gauge has changed so drastically that I ended up having to scrap my sweater and start over with the pattern I had ORIGINALLY intended to use.

Lesson Learned: Cotton is not wool is not wool is NOT WOOL! Don't expect it to behave like wool and if your stitches are too loose TIGHTEN THEM!

That's probably the most use the capslock key is getting from me for a long time. ^o^

On to other things! My gaming prize of the season has fallen into my hands!

This game arrived in the mail two days ago and I've played it for five hours already. For me that's pretty good! I have one major gripe about this game and I did anticipate it. It's all kana. All hiragana and no kanji and the text is hard to read. That pisses me off beyond belief but I can't say I didn't anticipate it!

On the other hand, I didn't anticipate a Mother game having good music and it's a nice surprise!

Because I'm a Pop'N Music fan I'm getting a kick out of the whole music-timed combo attack thing. I won applause and everything! ^o^ It's an odd way to spice up the generic Dragon Quest-style battle engine but I love it!

The story is depressing so far but after the WAH WAH WAH melodrama of Sword of Mana I'm content to play a game with some genuinely sad moments.

I can't say that it's better than Mother 2 but it could end up being equal to it. This is probably the only great GBA RPG I've played in my life that isn't a port and doesn't feature Mario and Luigi.
