Business As Usual.

Last night after I helped my mother wash and wax two cars I went to take out the trash. My allergies must've been bothering me because I was breathing out of my mouth and a gnat flew in and went straight down into my gullet! O_o I coughed like crazy and almost threw up. Then I drank a mug of hot water to kill it-just in case. I've probably eaten worse things in my life but ugh! I swallowed a bug!

We had a thunderstorm today with hail and everything. I used to think that hail was an oddity but we actually see it often in the summer. It's usually the size of peppercorns and I mistake it for heavy rain.

I finished with The Lives of Christopher Chant and am now reading Hitty: Her First Hundred Years. Yes, I do like my children's books! The second Chrestomanci book was better than the first. Hitty is also a good book but I have to read it in complete silence or I have a hard time absorbing each scene. Complete silence is hard to find in this house! :D I remember reading an excerpt from Hitty in a children's holiday anthology I picked up on one of those great days when I was a kid and my teacher was giving away free books.

I know my sister had a copy of "The Little Princess" but we lost it over the years. I never was able to read it but I hope I can someday.

"Hitty" is an excellent book! I know there are two versions available: the original book written by Rachel Field and a more politically correct "updated" version published in the 1990's. I read the original version so that's the only one I can recommend.
