It's a good thing that I started that sweater early because after measuring the nearly finished first sleeve I realized that it's an inch and a half too long! O_O I followed the pattern exactly and it had me increasing a stitch on each side every ten rows eight times, and when that was done I was supposed to knit the sleeve to eighteen inches. Well, by the time I finished the increases the sleeve was already 19 1/2 inches! I don't know if it was because I'm using wool yarn instead of the recommended cotton/acrylic blend, or there was a flaw in the pattern. Either way I'm redoing the damn sleeves and altering the pattern. If I do the increases every eight rows instead of every ten I should be all right. I won't be altering the sleeve cap shaping, after all. Maybe if it weren't going to be a gift I would let this go, but we already have problems with the sleeves on store-bought sweaters being too long. =_=
