The Day After.
Oct. 10th, 2006 11:26 pmYesterday was my mother's birthday. Everyone had the holiday off except my older brother but he didn't remember anyway. :P
I don't know if she liked the sweater. I liked it, though, so at least I don't feel like I was trying to foist it off on her! I'm going to make myself one in mauve instead of green. I heard that someone tried making it out of Knitpicks Decadence and liked the results. Wool of the Andes Bulky fit the bill but it doesn't come in a wide variety of colors.
Kristen and I made Mom cassoulet with acorn squash and chicken sausage for her birthday dinner. She always asks for the same thing every year! ^o^; It's not hard to make but it needed to cook for almost three hours. I'm not sure if the finished product looks appetizing but it was tasty!

One of these days I want to make a real cassoulet with dried beans instead of canned, now that I know the secret of using bottled water to cook the beans. Otherwise they stay like rocks forever!
