I painted my first N-head doll today.

His name is Leander, but I'm calling him Leo for short. That shirt looks terrible on him! I'm not sure what to make of my job. The N-head is small and mighty angular, but I put it on a C body to try to make up the difference. I used that RestoreDoll Stacy Titian hair for him. It looks like spiced pumpkin! He has green eyes, but I don't know if that shows from the photo. I have a headache. ^o^

I don't have much of his background worked out, but he's a childhood friend of Lucretia's that she doesn't get along with any more. It's not his fault, though, he's a nice boy!

...when you make a red-haired doll you have to dress them in warm or neutral colors like brown, gray or green. Since most of my dolls are cool-toned I don't have any clothes that would look good on Leo-kun. I don't even think I have any fabric that would work, but I'll have to take a look. =_=

Lately, I haven't had a lot of respect for myself as a doll customizer because, among other things, I'm not that great at sewing. Other people put so much more work into their dolls than I do. True, I do root mine by hand and of course I paint their faces, but my sewing skills are so limited that I don't think my dolls will ever look the way I want them to. I'd like to think of this as a good challenge, but sometimes I just want to throw up my hands and admit that I don't have the aptitude. It sucks when no one in your family can sew, either!
