Hurricane Dregs Ahoy!

The remnants of Hurricane Charley have finally made it to the Northeast. Earlier in the day they were threatening us with the possibility of isolated tornadoes, but it looks like we're just going to have rain. Lots of rain.

We're pretty lucky here in New England! I haven't seen a major hurricane here since Gloria in...1985? That wasn't much fun, but it was nowhere near as bad as what happened in Florida this weekend. Poor Floridians. =_= I will never live on the Gulf Coast. It was hard enough to make the parents take us seriously when we insisted on putting the trash cans in the garage.

I've been working on rooting tonight and reading Star Ocean 2 badfics. My SDs have been giving me plaintive looks lately, especially Emilio and Fuuka. Well, I'm sorry! Now that my room is in order with new 6ft tall shelves I should drag out the sewing machine. Yeah, that's what I'll do.

Gloom.

I'm not used to the sun setting so quickly. I usually prefer night to day but it feels gloomy when it turns dark so quickly. I guess fall is right around the corner. The leaves are already starting to change colors at the tops of the maple trees across the street. It's weird. It's only mid-August!

Kristen's playing Star Ocean 3, I'm rotting in front of the computer, bored out of my skull. Mirage has the biggest forehead I've ever seen on a video game character. She's supposed to be a beauty but I swear she has room for another face there! O_o

I'm reading The Fox Woman by Kij Johnson. It's the first book I've read in a long time that has sex in it. Ha ha ha. Sex.
