I hate the world today.

Actually, I just hate my neighbors and my oven. My next-door neighbors have been having trees sawed down in their back yard since 7 am, making it impossible for me to work. I just found out that my oven broiler doesn't work. Also, my first basil plant of the year is dying, no matter what I do to try and save it. You just can't grow basil in March in CT, not even as a houseplant. =_=

At least my 5th Anniversary Lien, who I preordered and paid for in November, came in today. She looks pleasant in the photo, but in person her face looks like this -___-.....kind of how I feel right now.

Aw...I hope you feel better! I feel for ya re: the neighbors. Our neighbors are an office park and they see fit to pressure wash and "vacuum" the parking lot at night. Augh.

Where do you order your dolls? I'm kind considering getting a Jenny (again). ^_^;

Thank you! Maybe I'm crabby because of the noise but I'm really ticked off about the oven.

I always think I want springtime to arrive, and then the first signs of construction make me wish for snow. =_= My neighbor is a heavy drinker who used to like driving his ride-on lawn mower around his property early pretty much every morning, weekdays and weekends. :O Now that he's drunk himself into a state of irreparable health, he hires people to make industrial noises for him.

I've been using Crescent Shop as a deputy service to order from Azonenet and Licca-chan Castle's website. Their fee is higher than Celga's, but I find them much more reliable!

Aw, she's cute! Is she Azone? I usually dislike those dolls for the blank expressions, so actually, I find her angst kind of appealing.

Thank you! She's an Azone Ex Cute doll. I admit that the dolls in general kind of have blank expressions (especially Himeno) but they have a lot of detail in their eyeprints compared to the older Volks dolls. Displaying them next to Jenny dolls makes the Ex Cute series look especially vacant, though! ^o^

I like your doll. That face is the one I usually have on offline. What can I say? I don't really get along with people at school because I'm the weird foreign girl with a thick accent. No need to be upset though! If you feel down, it is nothing some Maaya Sakamoto won't be able to fix!

It's too bad that you don't get along with people at your school. I never had an easy time at school either...you really have to be a good actor, in particular a comedian. I think it's ridiculous to tease someone for a foreign accent--there are a lot of languages that aren't easy for a foreigner to pronounce (I'm not bad at Japanese, but I have a terrible American accent when I try to speak Spanish)

People make fun of others because they're bored. Sometimes they do it because they actually have nothing in common with the people they call their friends, so they try to share the experience of teasing someone. I think it's despicable. All I can say is that things will probably get better when you're older. By the time you're in your late 20s the people who refuse to accept others because they're different stop seeming "cool" and start looking like losers that haven't grown up.

The only Maaya Sakamoto CD I have is Grapefruit. It's one of my favorites, though!

But that is only her first one! There is so much more Maaya you can have right at your finger tips! I don't like her music after 2003, but I strongly recommend the Nikopachi omnibus and Shoujo Alice.

Those are what I feel her best work, even if one is only a single collection, but that other one is a concept album! Also the last good album she made in my eyes, so you know it has got to be well done!

I don't know what's going on with Celga. Between accusing customers of owing money for an item for they paid for, had shipped, and received six months earlier (on two separate occasions this happened to Kristen, and when she confirmed she had paid they couldn't even bother to respond to her) and ignoring all requests to refund auction deposits (even though their FAQ says they'll give you your money back without a problem), I'm having a hard time trusting Celga now!

Hi ^_^! Lien really does have a funny face, doesn't she? When I first found out about the Azone Ex Cute series I didn't like her that much, but now she's one of my favorites.

I'm pretty sure the top filament is burned out on our oven. We had to order a new part, and it won't come in for a week! :O I really hope that's it, though. Paying $60 for a replacement filament is nothing compared to $600 for a new oven.

I can still use all the burners on the stovetop, so I'm sure I'll be fine. No cupcakes for a little while, though!

You're lucky to have a pretty church to visit! It's those small (or large) things that remind us that the world still has a lot of beauty to offer. You just have to go out and find it!

It's amazing how much our interpretation of the world is based on moods.

Was that really two weeks ago? It feels like it's been months. I had been wondering if I had gone too far back then, when you were obviously trying to figure things out for yourself. All I thought was that you were becoming unhappier and unhappier about a situation that has no easy resolution. In the end I had thought that even if I hadn't done anything, you would have come to the decision to try to break yourself out of the cycle of worrying and make positive changes on your own. But if I really did help you back then, I'm glad.

I think I've learned a lesson, too--have patience and let people straighten their problems out on their own. Maybe it's because I have an instinct to mother people, but sometimes I can't help but butt into people's business and tell them how they ought to live their lives. People really need to come to that decision themselves, right?

I'm very apprehensive about the state of the country but I'm apprehensive about the swine flu, hurricanes, people I care about dying in car crashes. :O All you can really do is plan for a better future and try to make yourself and the people you care about happy.

You enjoy the weather, too! I hope you have time to take a walk before it gets cold again!

Well, get rid of any doubts. You DID help me and thanks to you are in order.

I really believe that sometimes we have Angels to help us and when we don't listen to them they push a person around us to shake us up and get our attention.

I've been very, very troubled, too, by the bitterness and strife I see on the news and read about on-line.

Most of the people around me are just worried and scared. There's very little bitterness just resignation.

But I think going over to Wordpress got me the answers I needed.

I couldn't remember when things changed in American culture. You know where these ideas about the Free Market being the solution to problems and the strange combination of Conservative Christianity with this cold attitude towards helping others.

It doesn't make any sense to profess Jesus but be unfeeling about the plight of others.

Well I found the answer by talking to people at Wordpress but I can't tell you how many times I really stepped in it because I'm not an intellectual nor very saavy in controversial discussions.

The problems can be traced back to a philosophy called Objectivism and its founder, Ayn Rand. She formulated the philosophy that the Right adapted and mixed up with religion to produce a very strange hybrid. Rand was an atheist and I don't think she'd be pleased with what's happened.

Basically her philosophy believed government should protect the country, collect taxes and have minimal involvement in affairs of business and the economy. President Reagan was supposed to have been very interested in Rand and applied her philosophy to Reaganomics.

Objectivists I read about basically believe (a) I've got mine and the hell with you; (b) If something bad happens to you most likely it's your fault; (c) The more the government gets involved in things the worse the economy and lifestyle becomes.

Now that I found some of this out and what has happened I try to tell as many people who worry about things like this. Somehow knowing where the roots of the attitude and mind set come from takes some of the menace out.

The problem is, I think, is that Rand's philosophy has had over 3 decades to seep into our culture. It's going to take a long timer to counteract it.

We have to keep up a good state of mind. It's where everything starts. Thank goodness, too, for cats, birds, puppies and butterflies!

I had a brush with Objectivism when I was in college. A friend of mine was indoctrinated by two friends and in turn tried to indoctrinate me. In the end, it cost us our friendship. I can understand that some of its principles are empowering, but the whole business of spitting in the face of altruism disgusts me.

Basically, they think that the only reason you would love or give to another person is because they have "value" to you, just like any other property or wealth. But if you, as the object of the objectivist's affection, has a problem with being reduced to a commodity, feel free to treat them the same way!

So what if that person gets sick, or simply isn't fun anymore? Does their value go "poof?" Are they no longer awesome enough to be considered property?

For someone who has a hard time opening up to people and trusting them, it's a devastating philosophy. It's a whole lot of social Darwinism, as far as I'm concerned. How certain parties manage to mix that with conservative Christianity is beyond me--I thought that Christ taught his followers to be merciful? Whatever happened to "It's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven?"

I think it's impossible to find a political party to fit your beliefs (I actually sympathize with the Green Party a lot, but that's no way to run a country!). All you can really do is live by your own principles.
