First One In A Long Time.

Kristen does most of the doll rooting and rerooting around here nowadays. A long time ago, I used to be quite productive in that area myself! When I look back at the myriad of custom dolls I've produced, I have a problem with most of their faces, but I think a lot of them have pretty good hair. I figured there was no reason why I couldn't reroot a Jenny doll for myself, rather than depending on the Rooting Boss for everything.

Nevertheless, I did have to ask her for help in the end...rerooting is a bit more complicated than rooting a blank head from scratch!

This doll was a Takara Calendar Girl Flora. She used to have short blond hair. She's been rerooted with RestoreDoll hair in Turquoise, and her body has been swapped out for a Pure Neemo Advance E. She'll eventually be Malta from the Sanrio movie The Legend of Sirius, as soon as I figure out how to do her antenna and wings. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about her clothes, though. Malta is supposed to be naked. I don't know how that would work with a display piece. Right now she's wearing the second outfit that came with Angelic Sigh III Lien.

Thank you! Strangely enough, the body that she came with didn't match her face tone at all--it was so white it looked like it had been bleached! I'm glad that Azone produces a body that's a match for Takara white skin.

We can chalk that up to another perk of having a nice sister as she is one that is into dolls as much as you are! I doubt to have much in common with my brother, we like a few things all that same, but that is about it. I doubt he is into them the same ways he used to be back then. He used to watch some nice cartoons and anime years ago, even play neat old games!

I know I'm lucky that I share a lot of interests with my sister. We have different tastes in some things, but we share enough so that we generally always have something to talk about.

At the same time, when we were growing up it made us less likely to try to reach out and make new friends outside the family. I found that I always had little tolerance for other people's crap, because I was used to being in a relationship where the other's well being was what mattered most.

I find that brothers in general are hard to get along with. There's something about them that makes them want to pick fights with and not get along with their sisters. I wonder if they worry they'll be less manly if they get along with their sisters?

Hmm... could you make her a sort of flesh-toned sundress that flares out a bit to represent her "tail", or would that be too ice-dancer-costume-y?

Either way, she looks gorgeous!

I think that's a good idea! It's better than my first idea to glue flesh-colored fake fur to her ass. (Do they even make it in that color?)

A dress, or even a ice dancer-esque leotard would work because then I would have something to snap the wings onto. I'm not sure if I feel great about permanently altering the body by gluing wings to it. ^__^;...

Oh, that is SUCH a nice job! I remember rerooting those *teensy* skulls, it's not an easy task. Pretty pretty pretty....

Thank you! :D I'm all right with rooting heads from scratch, but when I have to reroot a doll and make alterations to or ignore the existing rooting pattern, it makes my head spin! I needed a bail-out when I reached the top of the head!

Oh that is so cute, she looks pretty! I've wanted to do this too, put a Jenny friend on a Licca body, I think there are some cute ones out there~

Thank you ^_^! It's nice to hear from you on LJ! At first I was worried that a Flora head would look weird on a shorter body, but Advance E has longer legs than the other Pure Neemo bodies.

I think that Timotei or Kisara might work on a Licca body, because Licca's friend Chocolat has the same head mold as Timotei and Charles has the same head mold as Kisara.

I agree that rooting is a lot of work! I still like to do it the old-fashioned way (the needle-knot method), because saran is so pretty and easy to work with.
