Over the past two days, most of the sprouts have started to damp off. I wouldn't be surprised if none of them grew to adulthood. I don't know if it's because of the weather, or because I started them indoors rather than direct-sowing them, but...bugger bugger bugger. That's what I get for trying something new.

All the cosmos and sunflowers are doing great, though. It's a good thing I find those the most beautiful. I don't know about the California poppies. Next year I'm going to stick to cosmos and sunflowers, bugger bugger bugger.

That's probably the case. The weather is been kind of crazy lately. I'm still new to the experience of starting annuals from seed--maybe keeping them inside for so long (because I was afraid the birds would eat them like they did last year) wasn't the best idea after all.
