Sooo...after a brief search on the internet I confirmed that the bird I saved from the window this morning was not a sparrow, but a male hermit thrush. I usually hear them singing in the early evening. They have a long, melodious song that almost sounds like it's played on a recorder. I swear that Lucas learned some of his warbling from them; one of his typical morning greetings is "hoowoohoo-hee!"
