Magic? Really, the flowers are old and drying out. I think it's just what hydrangea does--the color fades to a different color as it ages.

Is it a hydrangea? They change color depending on how acidic/alkaline the soil is. The ones around here change like crazy because of...who knows what...whatever the buildings are leeching into the soil? I need to get some photos of the intense purple ones sometime. I've never seen a hydrangea that color until we moved here.

Yes, that's a hydrangea! I hear that in general they turn pink in alkaline soil and blue in acidic soil. A hydrangea that's turned purple is probably growing in neutral soil.

These flowers are changing color because they're fast becoming dried flowers. XD When they were fresh they were bright sky blue. I had always thought I had alkaline soil, so it's interesting.
