My poppies are germinating! XD
I was starting to get a little nervous. I'm used to starting bigger seeds like cosmos and sunflowers; if the weather's warm those can pop in twenty-four hours. The Shirley poppies took about a week to germinate. I've heard from some sources that they can take as long as twenty days. I'm glad I didn't have to wait that long only to have the pot grow mold and kill the seeds!
I hope they turn out well. I'm going to wait until the seedlings resemble more than sprouted beans, then set them outside with mesh over the pots instead of plastic wrap. From my experience, birds can and will rip out three inch long seedlings and eat them. They'll kill all your seeds in one afternoon. Don't let me get started on the groundhogs. -_-
So I ditched Totori for the time being and made good on my vow to replay Atelier Lilie. This was my third time around, but for the past week the game was my best friend. I'm kind of disturbed by how addicting the old Atelier games are for me. I wonder if that's how a lot of people are with MMORPGs? If that's the case, I'll probably never try them. I've been having loads of fun, but I don't like the kind of person I become when I'm addicted to a video game.
So...this time I did manage to give the pendant to Ulrich. I got to do a lot of cool events and see some nice still pictures, but I wasn't one hundred percent happy with my choice of lover. XD I guess that Ulrich is supposed to be the big catch of the game. To me he has about as much personality as a bag of rocks, and after he and Lilie officially become a couple he starts to say creepy things that remind me of Twilight's Edward Cullen. Also, he has no expression in his voice whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, I like Show Hayami and all...but he coasts too far on his deep, sexy voice. I wonder if he can even shout at all? XD
I felt bad about giving up on Gerhard...not at all about Werner. Gerhard is not facially attractive but he's a fun guy. Werner is just a sleaze, and his smile is the worst!
Maybe for my fourth time I'll give the pendant to Gerhard. I use him the most of the adventurer characters, because he's the real tank of the game.
I earned the Private Academy I ending, which came with a cute but badly animated movie. I pretty much did the same thing as last time, but I finished the game on Year Seven with an Alchemy Level of 43. I just couldn't get it up to 50 for the True Ending...
Atelier Lilie is a lovely game with a lot more content than Totori. It's a pity that no one ever saw fit to localize it. In spite of its old school appearance it's much more complex than the newer games. Plus, there are no Lolitas. Not even ten-year-old Hermina and Ingrid squeal like Totori does. And sure, Lilie has a huge rack, but not a single character mentions it throughout the game. XD
