Yep, this is it. The Weird Poppy a.k.a. Fringed Poppy "Pink Confection."

I'm grateful for the free seeds, and I'm glad that my experiment at direct sowing poppies was a success. I knew that these poppies were going to be weird, but with no reference picture for the cultivar, I wasn't prepared for just how weird they were going to be.

Damn, these are ugly. The color is pretty interesting, but the flower is ugly.

On the bright side, I think that cosmos "Double Click Snow Puff" is a winner. The flower is even more gorgeous today than it was yesterday. Also, "Moondance" has seven flowerbuds.

I wasn't prepared for this poppy to be so ugly! ::cries::
