I've been knitting a mini SD coat from the pattern in the DOA magazine for the past few days. Everything was going fine until I got to the back. I dropped a ton of stitches on the left side and even though I thought I had fixed them I ended up with a huge hole. I couldn't even unravel it to correct my mistakes because the yarn just snaps off when you try to work it too much. Damn! Stupid cheap boucle! I should've known better than to buy yarn with no dye lot. I should kill myself. Hours and hours of work down the drain.....I know that every knitter's been there, but why does it have to hurt so MUCH!? ;_;

Don't wanna give up....wanna keep going....but when you mess up in knitting it really SUCKS!

I feel like I can't do anything right any more. For some reason, this bothered me even more than when I was in high school, getting a 65 in algebra.

Hmm....but I don't know for sure about that.

I was flipping through the channels yesterday and I stumbled upon the most hilarious thing--a Jekyll and Hyde musical starring David Hasselhoff! I only managed to catch the end of it, but man, what was wrong with him? He looked like his face had been shellacked! I loved when he was doing the duet with himself and he ripped his shirt open--why?? I'm going to have to check the TV listings for the next couple of days and see if it's on again. It was even funnier than Rock'N Roll High School!

I'm going to give that NDR #4 head another try pretty soon. Never give up!

David Hasselhoff? I didn't know he was in that musical.

I did, however, remember hearing last year that Sebastian Bach (aka Mr. Skid Row, right?) was in it at that time.

Mr. Hasselhoff did a lot of rolling around on the floor and screaming. Seeing the one with Sebastian Bach must be unusual!

I can totally relate with the knitting thing! I just finished my first MSD sweater and I realized that I worked the pattern in reverse on one arm, so it has a completely different look than the other arm :-( I am just learning, so I can use that as my excuse, but it is still sad!! Don't think I can fix it, but Miyoko can wear it and I can take photos from one side :-) Hehehe...

That musical sounds... interesting. Very scary!!! Haha!!

Is there no way you can fix it? From the reverse side, with a darning needle, wrok thread through the sides of the holes and pull and hope that it won't show too much in boucle? I always end up with small holes between collars and bodices and I do it all the time.
Or sew a patch to hide the hole? Or one of these iron-on things? And add a cople of others in different places for balance?

:D Thank you for the advice, I'll keep it in mind for next time! Unfortunately, the yarn went snap! when Kristen tried unraveling it a little for me and I had to get rid of it. I'm going to rest for a few days and start over. I have a very bad habit of working on a project when I'm tired just because I want to see how it turns out. I always thought knitting was the kind of thing you can do while talking/watching TV, but when I was at that part I wasn't familiar with I should have taken a break or found a quiet room to work in. ^_^;.....
