Roise Roise Roise.
Jun. 28th, 2003 06:21 pmCute, isn't she? :D I made a page for her, too:

She was supposed to come yesterday, but the stinking mailman rang the doorbell when I was out of earshot and by the time Kristen ran outside to chase him down he was driving away. Jerk. All because my brother refuses to answer the door!-_-;;....
After looking at pictures of Olphe, Ryundel and that cute little Mini doll, Lounie, I was starting to wonder if I had made the right choice in asking for Roise, but when she finally came home and I took my first real look at her face, it was like " ^o^!!!" She's a lot prettier than I thought she'd be. Her eyes have such lovely and subtle shading, you'd think they were hand-painted. She was well-worth the trouble! I can't wait to take more pictures of her.
What else? Hmm...Kristen and I watched Spirited Away for the past two nights. We have the DVD, and we watched the Japanese language version with strangely inaccurate subtitles. ^o^ Towards the end it ceased to make sense, but it still was a fantastic movie. For some reason the idea of the parents doing something "bad" like eating the food in a restaurant without permission while the daughter worries about being caught seems very realistic to me ^_^;...The Japanese voice cast wasn't that great, but at least Chihiro didn't have the stereotypical squeaky voice of most anime heroines. I was surprised that Haku was played by a woman in the Japanese version! He sounded like a real boy to me...but then again, maybe he didn't.
I don't know, I think it would be fun to work in that haunted bathhouse. Aside from the horrible old woman, there seemed to be a lot of nice people there. Humm...

Date: 2003-06-28 07:00 pm (UTC)I don't know about the character's character design (^-^;;) but all the dolls in that series look like they were designed by Mimiko. I noticed that the pattern of light spots and shading is the same as what Mimiko uses in most of her dolls. I don't know for sure, though. I wouldn't be surprised if she designed the Roise
doll.
