It Won't Leave Me Alone O_O!
Aug. 31st, 2003 05:11 pmWell, since the cat has been following me around all day (and I have the claw marks on my shirt to prove it) I figured I could snap a few pictures of it. It's enjoyed butting its nose against my shoulder and using my leg as a scratching post.
It's going to have to go home eventually, right? I feel responsible for it just the same. Pretty small, isn't it? I'm pretty sure it's male. I have to go outside and let it play around on my lap to keep it from trying to mess with the propane tank on the grill or jump in the pool...o_o

Date: 2003-08-31 06:02 pm (UTC)He's such a friendly kitty! I wish he were mine, because his owners haven't treated their other cats well in the past. I'm going to have to hang around outside tomorrow and see if he wants to play!

Date: 2003-09-01 11:05 am (UTC)FianceHubby says that with outdoor kittens, you'll want to wash/disinfect any cat scratches just to be on the safe side. (Kitten tend to have sharper claws and teeth just because they haven't worn down yet, plus outdoor kitties get into all kinds of trouble.)Yesterday, while strolling down to Broadway, we saw an unusual sight: Manhattanite outdoor kitties.
A woman had two gorgeous kittens-- one looked like a Russian Blue, and the other was a sweet shy white and grey buchi kitten-- and was letting them explore the courtyard of her apartment, as well as part of the sidewalk. Apparently, she was trying to get them used to the concept of "outside"... many urban cats who haven't had exposure to stuff like grass and sky can freak out when taken for a trip to the country.

Date: 2003-09-01 01:08 pm (UTC)He didn't break the skin, fortunately. He just was trying to cozy down in my lap, which wasn't quite big enough for him, and he used his claws to steady himself.
That, and twice when I didn't kneel down right away and let him onto my lap he tried climb up my legs like a mountaineer! Thank God I was wearing pants! I took a nice hot shower at the end of the day. Made sure to check for fleas as well. ^^
Kitties are so cute. I hope this one doesn't get into too much trouble! I didn't see him today because it's raining. I'm not going to be able to have a cat of my own until I move out, so I'll have to amuse myself with the neighborhood ones.
Congratulations!

Date: 2003-09-02 10:05 am (UTC)I'm a little fritzy about the upcoming move to Connecticut... we were aiming for "October-ish" but it turns out that the current homeowners won't move out of the place until Oct. 30th. I was sort of hoping to get in driving lessons well before it gets icy or snowy (but not really willing to get a learner's licenses in NY, then get driving lessons, then get a learner's license in CT and find a NEW driving lesson place)... now I'm not so sure that will work out. :(
But in good news, the new place will allow us to get kittens. I just have to avoid kitten-overload until November. ;)
