Adventures in Item Creation!

Life has been about as crappy as you can expect when you’re my age.
Booboo lost another tooth a few months ago. Thankfully it was a little incisors, and he didn’t need to be put under for the extraction. But boy was he pissed! He also managed to avoid an abscess this time thanks to our obsessive application of Oratene antiseptic gel. Other than that he is just hair balls. He turns eleven at the end of the month. He is still quite the little shit!
But yes, I have been item creating for the past month, with some small successes! I have been making indie nail polish!
It’s been an uphill battle, because it’s all trial and error, and no one wants to share their secrets. But I will share a secret with you right now. You can use powdered pigments and micas as colorants in your suspension base, but if you want to use white to tint the color you must use liquid white colorant! Powdered titanium white does not dissolve, ever!
After mixing about 30 bottles of polish, I did make one that I believe is ready to see the light of day. Too bad I can’t seem to take a decent picture, lol...it’s blue, anyway. I can’t stop making blue and purple polish! It’s been pretty good at resisting chips, but I’m not looking forward to removing it. It’s a crelly with glitter in it, and glitter tends to stick to your fingers like cement!
