Yeah..there's been a lot of news regarding the third Harry Potter movie lately. It reminds me that I never got to see the Return of the King. ^^;;...Well, as far as all the other stuff goes, I guess I can say that I'm biased because above all else I want to see a good movie. I don't really care what the characters look like in the trailers and in screen snaps because from what I can tell the film itself looks great. I get annoyed when people complain incessantly about what they see because they're ruining whatever excitement I feel whenever more news is released. It's just "bad luck thinking." I wasn't happy with the first two movies and I'm definitely looking forward to this one!

Bad news...even though I've never had feelings for Blythe, I like that Velvet Minuet doll very, very much. But she's so expensive, and I have no money anyway. Phooey Phooey Phooey.

You weren't happy with the first LotR movies? O_O

How come? Though I know everyone has their own tastes as far as movies...

Is it because you are a book fan and there are changes/omissions you are unhappy with? Those seem to be the ones most unhappy with the movies. And I'm curious, do you like the extended editions any better?

Cause while I love theatrical RotK, I think it will ultimately be RotK EE that seals this as my all time favorite movie. Just cause there are certain scenes that I know will be in it that I'm dying to see. :)

oh I should clarify...cause I am a book fan and I know plenty of others who loved the movie as well. I mean one of the stricter book fans who wanted things to be closer to the book.

Ahh...actually I meant the first two Harry Potter movies! I used too many damn pronouns! ^o^;;

I loved the Lord of the Rings movies. I never got to see the third one, though, and I feel bad!

oh, ehehehe...thought you were talking about the LotR movies. As for Harry Potter. I don't know...it's all odd. I adore the books and the movies didn't stray all that far from the books but for some reason I am not passionate about the movies. I like them alot, but I don't LOVE them (like I love the LotR movies...and those differed significantly from the book in places). And I can't put my finger on what is wrong with the HP movies. It's sort of missing the magic of the book. But then maybe this one will be different since it is a different director...plus PoA is one of my favorite HP books (along with Goblet of Fire). So I'm really looking forward to this one too. ^__^

Oh, I think the Lord of the Rings movies are far superior to the Harry Potter movies! When they were first coming out I thought they might be boring but I stayed glued in my seat the whole time when I was watching them. :D

I think they cut the adult roles down too far in the first 2 HP movies. Some of the actors (like Robbie Coltrane) looked very much the part but didn't seem to want to be there. I hope that will change in the Prisoner of Azkaban. I think that as far as the adult roles went, I only enjoyed Gilderoy Lockhart and Filch...^^;;...I just want someone to show a little fire! But I don't think any of the actors were "bad," with the exception of Ian Hart as Professor Quirrell. He looked great in the part but that last scene...that last scene!

Hmmmm...yeah, now that you mention it the adult parts are significantly downsized. Snape for one doesn't get nearly as much time in as he does in the books. And he is far nastier in the books. In the movies you don't quite get that there is this great *personal* animosity that Snape has for Harry. You just get his vague notion that he is nasty guy in general. But yeah, I'm hoping with Sirius and Lupin being introduced in the next film things will develop a bit more on the adult front. Oh and I wasn't quite happy with the way they decided to portray Dumbledore. He's much more light hearted and funny in the books.

I keep wondering if maybe they kept Snape's hatred for Harry out of the movies because it wasn't kid-friendly. If so, that just isn't right!

I admit, the late Richard Harris didn't do a very good job as Dumbledore. Supposedly Michael Gambon is portraying Dumbledore more like he is in the books. I hope so! It's sad that Richard Harris passed away. But ...he had made it clear that he wasn't enthusiastic about his role in the movies from the start, and it did show!
