Meet Madalyn.
Jun. 17th, 2004 01:16 pmI painted this little girl last night because with storms predicted for the rest of the week I didn't know of any other time I could do it and still stick to my plan. Madalyn was made with a Volks Excellent Mini A body and RestoreDoll hair in Allaglow. You'd think it'd take less time to root a mini doll than the full-size ones, but that head actually has quite a bit of scalp space! ^o^ I kept my promise and styled her hair like Azone Rocket Rabbits Caty. I had to use some Water Wax to keep the front layers from falling into her eyes. It didn't work that well. ^__^;...
Madalyn's dark eyes looks weird to me. I hardly ever give my dolls brown eyes. I don't think I've ever been completely thrilled with a mini doll I've made, even though I'm fond of them in general. She kind of looks like she has no nose in this picture, doesn't she?

Date: 2004-06-17 10:32 am (UTC)I think Mini heads and A heads are pretty close in terms of scalp-space... lots of stuff to root. That reminds me, I need to get start on rooting, too!

Date: 2004-06-20 04:48 pm (UTC)I admit that painting her eyes brown was hard because I always use dark brown for the top and bottom of the eye. I was afraid her eyes would look too flat.
Now, the N-head takes no time at all to root! Neither does the NEO-head. It's strange about the mini head, but at least it allows you to try more hairstyles.
Good luck with your rooting! ^o^
