Dum dum dum.....

It was decided by the powers that be that Kristen make that beef and broccoli dish again tonight. It's a bit of work and I didn't want her to have to do it all herself, so I helped cut up some of the vegetables and made the rice. By the time the stir-fry was done, the rice was ready and I took the lid off the pot and prepared to divvy it up.

Now, I've been actively preparing meals for 5 years. I'm not an expert at making rice, but it came as a big shock to me when I found out that even though the liquid had been absorbed the rice grains were still hard as rocks. After 20 minutes. Dinner was ready to serve, and I ruined the rice!! ;___; We had to make extra to feed all of us and our usual pot was too small so I used a much bigger one...;_;....I guess it was much too big! Thank God we found some ramen noodles to serve the beef with broccoli over. I destroyed two cups of sushi rice. Jeez...;_; I really need to get a rice cooker. This was a bad experience.

It rained a lot today. We had a severe thunderstorm warning this morning which was pretty odd, and it was combined with the possible threat of a tornado. Um....the last time we had one of those was in 1978, a few months before I was born. And my mother says she doesn't think that was a real tornado. But a cold front means cooler weather! I think I like that ^___^.
